Nigerians, especially the youths require proper and intensive orientation on the need to eschew immoral vices and remain patriotic to avoid a total breakdown of ethics and nationhood.
This position was the core of the comments made by His Royal Highness Dr. Haliru Yahaya, OON, Emir of Shonga during the courtesy call on him by The Acting State Director of NOA, Kwara State, Mr Olusegun Adeyemi and his Management team on Tuesday, 28th March,2017.
His Highness, Dr Haliru Yahaya went down memory lane to the early days of MAMSER, the precursor of NOA and he noted that the impact of the body was felt in the area of National Orientation. He lamented what has become of the Agency as a result of improper funding and urged government at all level to support the Agency as it is positioned to properly engage citizens at every nook and cranny of the nation on patriotism and other issues of National interest. The fight against corruption, he said, must be strategically done in a longitudinal manner and NOA can use all within its means to better pass the appropriate messages across if empowered.
In his comment, the Ag. State Director, Mr Olusegun Adeyemi thanked the Royal father for his solid support for the Agency and positive response to every invitation by the State Directorate. He noted that despite the challenge of funds, NOA is forging ahead and doing its best.
The Royal father thereafter assured NOA of his support anytime and prayed for the success of the Ag State Director and the Agency nationwide.
